Our Story

Our Beginning

Bob Carrier started his career in funeral service in 1985, as a Salem High School junior, at Goundrey Funeral Home in Salem. He began working with his best friend and mentor, Jimmy Johnson, who took him under his wing and showed him how families that have had a loss should be treated. Jimmy showed Bob that care, compassion, honesty, and trust go a long way with people. Bob left for college in 1991 to earn his degree in funeral science. Bob rejoined Jimmy at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home in Salem in 1998, where he worked for 18 years. Jimmy left us when he was far too young in 2008, but his commitment to families will always stay with Bob.

In 2015, Bob Carrier decided that southern New Hampshire needed a brand new facility that serves all funeral needs in one location. A family-oriented atmosphere, where our family is always here to serve yours, with that same care, compassion, trust, and honesty.

Bob's aunt and uncle, Barbara and Bob Tondi, supported Bob's dream and idea of a state-of-the-art funeral facility. With their generosity, Carrier Family Funeral Home broke ground in December of 2015.
