Robert "Bob"
Gavin
Jun 25, 1945 — Jul 15, 2022
Windham
Bob Gavin, Age 77 of Windham, NH, beloved husband of Beryl Gavin, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, July 15th at Southern, NH Medical Center, Nashua, NH.
He grew up and was educated in Somerville, and Billerica, MA, where he graduated from Billerica Memorial High School. He was a resident of Windham, NH for the past 17 years, and formerly lived in Wilmington, MA. In the 70's Bob was a Police Officer in both Pepperell, MA and Merrimack, NH. 1978 Bob began his 23-year career with Delta Airlines, retiring in the year 2000, all the while he proudly owned and operated Video Expressions and Four Seasons Photography for 24 years.
Still having the love of being a part of the Police community after retiring from Delta and the photo/video business Bob joined the Hollis Communication Center as a 911 dispatcher of Police, Fire & Ambulance for the towns of Hollis, Mason, and Brookline, NH. Bob first met Beryl at the young ages of 14 and 17 (Bob was robbing the cradle for sure) at a practice of the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corp competition. He was an avid drummer playing with the Lieutenant Prince Senior Drum and Bugle Corps along with playing and teaching for the Burlington, MA Citations, he loved golf (although he would tell you he wasn't any good at it, but enjoyed playing), Nascar, bull riding, loved to travel and going on cruises, dinner with friends of 50 plus years (so special), playing tickle monster with his girls, nieces, nephews & grandchildren, playing solitaire, he was famous for his quick wit and one line zingers, loved his Cadillac, his family at the Hollis police station, can't forget his Delta Airlines family, belly rubs with the pups, Go Pats! but most of all spending time and making memories with his wife, daughter, son-in-law & family which was everything to him.
Bob was predeceased by his Daughter Julie Beth Michaud in July 2006 and his parents John F. and Dorothy R. (West) Gavin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Beryl (Dunham) Gavin, daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Dana DeGennaro of Billerica, MA., and sister: Carole and her husband Bruce Strong of Natick, MA, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews, as well as his beloved puppies Ruger and Colt. He was a beloved "Bampie" to his grandchildren Corinne, Carter, Sara May, Devin, and Zachary.
