William P. "Bill" Nutton, 94, of Methuen, MA, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Londonderry, NH, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 13, 1932, to the late Harry Nutton and Rose (Gaffney), of Methuen, MA.
Bill worked for The Royal Packing Company and as a man that rarely sat still he then worked as a custodian for Greater Lawrence Vocational Technical School for over 25 years until finally retiring.
But even in retirement, Bill rarely rested. There was little he could not fix on his own with the right set of tools. In his downtime he enjoyed woodworking in his cellar. He began to do less in his 80’s and 90’s, but never lost the strength a lifetime of manual jobs gave him and always offered a strong, borderline vice-grip, handshake when he warmly greeted you.
Bill is survived by his daughter: Esther Sheehy, of Londonderry, NH; his grandchildren: Christopher Nutton, Timothy Nutton, and his wife Patricia, Robert Nutton, and his wife Amanda, Laura Paquin, and her husband Daniel, and Julie Traynor, and her husband Stephen; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a large extended family and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Bill is predeceased by his wife: Louise (Murach) Nutton; sons: William Jr. and Thomas, son in law: Thomas Sheehy, as well as his siblings; sisters: Shirley Weisenborn, Stella Sicotte, Catherine “Kitty” Rickard, Dorothy Adams, Gladys Belanger, Rosalie Laurenza; and brothers: Raymond, Harry, Douglas, Fred, and James.
Friends and family are invited to Calling Hours on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 4-6 PM, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087.
