Vera
Garabedian
Jul 7, 1926 — Aug 5, 2023
Salem
Vera Garabedian passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023. The daughter of the late Kachador and Eva Avedisian of Methuen, MA., she is predeceased by a brother, Avedis Avedisian of Methuen, MA and a sister Alice Abdalian and her husband Haig of Belmont, MA.
Although she vowed to never marry a farmer, Vera married her childhood sweetheart, Nash Garabedian and together they grew apples, and raised vegetables on the family farm. She helped Nash establish and run their landscaping and paving business, managing the business office and on occasion, driving a dump truck.
Vera lived a life of moral and ethical excellence. She lived a strong faith, which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She made the world a better place by offering hospitality to all and serving her family, friends, neighbors and faith community with kindness, gentle care and humor. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, baking, painting and gardening. Pal was her favorite border collie. Judy was her favorite Judge. All will miss her pies and banana fritters. Vera encouraged her children to be the best they could be by always doing "the right thing". She might want to leave these words with you: "I don't care what everyone else does, you do the right thing!".
Rest in peace Varsenik. Well Done.
She is survived by her brother Richard, and his wife Eleanor Avedisian, of Methuen, MA; her sister-in-law, Rose Avedisian, also of Methuen; her daughter Linda Fournier, and her husband Robert, of Salem, NH; her son Nash Garabedian Jr., and his wife Diane, of West Newfield, ME; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
