Thomas C.
Baker
Aug 8, 1943 — Jan 29, 2025
Hampstead
Thomas C. Baker, 81, of Hampstead, NH, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Colonial Poplin, in Fremont, NH, with his family by his side. He was born on August 8, 1943, to the late John and Helen (LaRocque) Baker, in Lawrence, MA.
Although Tom was a Lab Inspector for the State of Massachusetts DPW for many years, he eventually started Methuen Auto School. It was there that he found his passion teaching the local teens how to become safe drivers, and often telling students "Don't drive any faster than your guardian angel could fly". In his free time, Tom was the highest degree of the Improved Order of Red Men, a direct partner of the former Sons of Liberty. He also enjoyed camping and traveling with his wife for the Red Men Conventions. Above all, Tom enjoyed the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 55 years: Margaret M. "Peggy" (Connell) Baker, of Hampstead, NH; their children: Kelly Feole, of Plaistow, NH, and Erik Baker and his wife Deborah, of Hudson, NH; and his grandchildren: Ty, Reece, Cole, Danny.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Colonial Poplin Nursing Home, in Fremont, NH, for their care and compassion throughout the past three and a half years. Tom could always be found in the lobby greeting every visitor that came through their doors.
Friends and family are invited to Calling Hours on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 4-8 PM, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 10:30 AM, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or to Colonial Poplin Nursing Home's Activities Fund, 442 Main St, Fremont, NH 03044.
