Theodore “Ted” Joseph Thibeau, 77, of Londonderry, New Hampshire, passed away at his home on Wednesday morning, August 26, 2026.
Ted was born on October 24, 1948, to the late Alice (Gagnon) and Joseph Thibeau. Raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts, he attended local schools before being drafted into the United States Army. He served his country in Korea, an experience that remained an important part of his life.
In June of 1969, Ted married the love of his life, Maureen (Paolino) Thibeau. Together, they built a life centered around family, first in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and later in Derry, New Hampshire. Ted and Maureen shared 57 years of marriage, filled with family, friendship, travel, and countless memories. Ted spent his career with National Grid, where he worked for many years before retiring as a Contracting Supervisor at the age of 55. Retirement gave him more time for the things he enjoyed most. He loved fishing, trips to the casino, playing cards with friends, traveling, and, most of all, spending time with the people he loved. Family meant everything to Ted. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a loyal friend. He had a way of making close friends feel like family, and he valued the friendships he made throughout his life. Those who knew Ted will remember the stories, the laughs, the good times, and the many memories they shared with him.
Ted is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Maureen Thibeau; his daughters, Kimberly Thibeau Chase and her fiancé, William Carson, of Kingston, New Hampshire, and Jennifer Thibeau of Londonderry, New Hampshire; his grandchildren, Matthew Pomerleau and his wife, Suhad Shahin, Samantha Chase, and Teddy Kiberd; his niece, Joann Buskey and her husband, Carl; as well as many close friends whom Ted considered family.
In addition to his parents, Ted was predeceased by his eight siblings.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, September 2, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, New Hampshire. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, September 3, at 12:00 p.m. at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, New Hampshire. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the graveside service, at a location that will be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to DVNF (Disabled Veterans National Foundation).
Ted will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
