Suraj Nagrath, a pillar of strength, a beacon of love, and a compassionate soul, bid farewell to this world on June 26th 2023, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Suraj was a beloved husband, a devoted father, a cherished grandfather, a respected teacher, and a selfless social worker. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will continue to inspire and guide us.

Born in undivided India, in what is now Pakistan, his family moved across the border after partition. They settled and called Gurgaon home. He was one of eight siblings, who together shared the joys and challenges of life.

As was typical in those times in India, he had an arranged marriage with the beautiful Sneh Batra, who he met and got engaged within a few days and married within a few weeks. After marriage, their love story started and blossomed for almost 5 decades. Their marriage is a testament to the power of companionship and unwavering commitment. Their bond was built on a foundation of trust, respect, and deep love, which only grew stronger over the years.

As a father, Suraj instilled in his sons, Prashant and Abhishek, the values of empathy, kindness, and diligence. He nurtured their dreams, providing them with support and guidance as they embarked on their own paths to the USA. Suraj's presence in their lives was a source of strength and inspiration, and his wisdom will continue to guide them as they navigate life's journey. Despite not having daughters of his own, he embraced his daughters-in-law, Ruchika and Vasundhra, as his own beloved daughters. Suraj showered them with the same affection, care, and respect that he showed to his own children, exemplifying the depth of his love and the generosity of his spirit.

Suraj was not only a dedicated family man but also a passionate educator. Throughout his life, he imparted knowledge and wisdom to countless children and young people, shaping their minds and encouraging them to reach for their dreams. His passion for teaching and his innate ability to connect with his students made him a beloved figure in the education community, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those he mentored.

In addition to his teaching career, Suraj dedicated himself to social work. He tirelessly lent a helping hand to those in need, resolving conflicts and issues with compassion and understanding. From fighting corruption to uplifting those in need, he was a true example of giving and community development.

Suraj's social nature and zest for life were legendary. He possessed a remarkable ability to bring people together, effortlessly creating bonds and fostering a sense of community. Suraj was the life of every party, radiating joy and spreading laughter wherever he went. His magnetic personality and genuine interest in others made him a beloved friend to many.

Suraj's greatest joy came from his role as a doting grandfather to his beloved grandkids, Krish, Kavish, and Om. He showered them with unconditional love, and his presence in their lives brought immense happiness to both him and his grandchildren. Suraj cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

Suraj Nagrath's departure from this world leaves a void that cannot be filled. However, his spirit of love, compassion, and service will live on through the lives he touched. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory forever be a blessing to those whose lives he graced.
