Salley Ann
Osborn
May 16, 1930 — Oct 27, 2025
Atkinson
Salley Ann Osborn (nee Macartney) 95, of Atkinson, NH died October 27th, 2025 at her home with family and her faithful companion dog Brady.
Salley was born in Methuen, MA on May 16th, 1930. She was the daughter of Amherst Macartney and Ruth (Summersby) Macartney.
Salley was passionate about learning and being active in the community, which led to her many achievements. While studying Philosophy at Brown University, her late brother Tom, who also attended Brown, introduced her to his roommate, Bill. After earning her Bachelor's Degree Salley completed a Master's in Reading Instruction. As a young mother she taught grade school (both first and sixth grades). Following this, she founded and was the Director of the Osborn Day School (catering to young people with learning difficulties). Salley also opened the Osborn Clinic in Agawam, MA with her late husband Bill.
During retirement, she enjoyed spending time with Bill, both at their house in Englewood Florida and visiting family in Atkinson New Hampshire. Salley loved socialising with her friends in both states; hosting and attending many parties through the years. Salley was also very artistic. She painted portraits of every member of her family. She also belonged to the Sun Coast Writer's Guild in Englewood. During this time, she wrote and published two children's books on Amazon.
Salley always enjoyed having adventures with her grand-children and great-grandchildren. She never lost the ability to view the world through the eyes of a child. She also loved animals, especially dogs and horses, adopting quite a few throughout her life.
Salley leaves behind Brady, her daughter, Wendy Hollis and husband, Craig. She leaves her son, Daniel Osborn and wife Margaret. He leaves five grandchildren: Elizabeth Connor-Kerr and husband Killian, Kevin Connor and wife Anastasia, and Conor, Katelyn and Tess Osborn. She leaves two great granddaughters, Natalie and Elise and soon-to-be-born great grandson, Baby Connor-VonLans.
The family will be holding a private memorial for Salley. Thoughts and prayers only please, as Salley embarks on this spiritual journey.
