Rose Marie (Brosco) Benenati, 94, of Salem, NH passed away on Monday, September 18th, 2023.
She was born on March 10, 1929, to Gennaro and Maria (Di Fonzo) Brosco. Rose received her education locally and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She married the love of her life, Francesco Benenati in 1948, the couple had four children and raised their family in Lawrence Mass. Rose spent many years working in the Crystal Room of Western Electric until her retirement in 1984. Upon her retirement she and her husband divided their time between West Palm Beach, Fl and at home in Salem, NH. No matter where she was living, she was very active in prison and nursing home music ministry. Throughout her life she enjoyed being with family and friends playing scrabble and Pokeno, card games, sewing and quilting. She was an avid computer/iPad user who played Words with Friends daily. She was an active member at Riverside Assembly of God for over 40 years until the pandemic. Singing was a passion for Rose. Rose had a beautiful operatic voice and was very involved in her church choir and their productions. She was a mentor to new Christian believers with Bible studies both in person and on Zoom.
In recent years, Rose was extremely proud of her independence and sharpness staying active and involved in her community until just a few months ago.
Rose is survived by her three daughters, Lynne Gioia and husband Ronald, Susan Gagne and husband Al, and Maria Paladino and her husband Frank; her six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Anne Cristaldi of Leesburg, Florida as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rose was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Francesco Benenati and her son, Michael Benenati as well as her siblings John, Joseph, Armand (Huck); Domenic, and Guido Brosco, Lena Donovan and Ida Hill.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 26th from 4-7pm at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday morning, at 10am, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
