It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Ron Berton, 59, of Windham, New Hampshire, on October 15, 2026.
Born and raised in Billerica, Massachusetts, Ron will be remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, and the love he had for his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Ron was a devoted husband to his wife, Linda Berton, and a proud father to his son, Blake Berton. Being a husband and dad were two of the most important parts of Ron's life. He loved his family deeply and was incredibly proud of Blake. His family meant everything to him, and the memories they shared will be cherished forever.
Ron was an owner and business partner at Financial Aid Services (FAS) and Genesis, where he worked alongside his business partner, Sandi O'Connell. He took great pride in his work and the businesses he helped build. Ron was deeply respected by the people he worked with, and many people cherished him not only for who he was but also for the way he ran his businesses. He genuinely cared about the people around him and treated others with kindness and generosity. He was always willing to lend a hand, go out of his way to help someone, or do whatever he could for others. The relationships he built throughout his career were a reflection of the kind of person he was.
Soccer was Ron's biggest passion and a part of his life for as long as anyone could remember. He spent his life playing goalkeeper and was a longtime member of the Windham Men's Soccer League, where he played for over 10 years. Sunday soccer was something Ron truly looked forward to. He thoroughly enjoyed being around his soccer guys, sharing the field with them, and being part of a group that meant so much to him.
One of the most special parts of Ron's love for soccer was passing that passion down to his son, Blake. Ron got Blake into playing goalkeeper, and throughout Blake's own years as a goalkeeper, he always looked up to his dad. Ron was not only Blake's father but also someone he admired and learned from on and off the field. Soccer became a special bond they shared, and Ron's influence on Blake will always be a part of him. The love of the game, the lessons learned, and the memories they shared will be cherished forever.
Outside of work and soccer, Ron also enjoyed golfing and snowmobiling. He loved traveling to Aruba and spending time at Wells Beach in Maine, two places that brought him happiness and gave him opportunities to relax and make lasting memories with the people he loved.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Berton; his son, Blake Berton; his brother, Mike Berton, and Mike's fiancée, Kelly O'Keefe; and his father, Ron Berton Sr. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Siri Poore and John Poore; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marc and Lucy Gelormini; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Ron was the son of Marjorie Berton (Ellenwood) and Ron Berton Sr.
Ron will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, love for his family, dedication to his work, and the countless lives he touched along the way. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, a proud father, a respected business owner, a passionate soccer player, and a genuinely good person who was always willing to be there for others.
His unexpected passing leaves a tremendous void in the lives of those who loved him. He will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
