It is with heavy hearts that the family of Robert J. Lavigne, of Hudson, New Hampshire, announce his passing on December 28, 2023.

Bob was born in Bathurst, New Brunswick, to Raymond and Regina (Roy) Lavigne. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Catherine (MacPhail); his daughter Karen and her children, Justin and Jenna of Newmarket, ON; his daughter Julie (Fernando Suarez) and their daughter Eva of Singapore; and his daughter Michelle (Michael Uhlarik) and their children, Sophie and Robin of Hubbards, NS. He is also survived by Daxton Pinsent (Jennifer) of St. John's, NL; his sister Julie Lavigne of Magog, QC; his brother Paul Lavigne (Petra) of Powell River, BC; his niece and nephews Carole, Jean Marc, and Robert Bherer, and Alex Lavigne; as well as his former spouse Elisabeth Hache of Brampton, ON. He will be fondly remembered by his brothers-in-law Thomas MacPhail of Bassano, AB; Ralph (Sherry) MacPhail of Milford, NS; and his sisters-in-law Edith (Jack) Pinsent of Musgrave Harbour, NL; Helen Henwood of Amherst, NS; AJ (Mike) Feiner of Pictou, NS; Lynn MacPhail of Moncton, NB, and all of their extended family. He is predeceased by his son-in-law, Robert Kerry.

Born with a natural curiosity that guided him throughout his life, Bob's inquisitive mind extended to the realm of technology, where he found joy in tinkering with gadgets and his MG, and staying abreast of the latest advancements. A true foodie at heart, Bob's eyes would light up at the mention of good food. He delighted in sharing meals with family and friends. However, Bob's greatest source of joy and pride was his family. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather; he poured his love and wisdom into every aspect of family life. Known as the "Master Planner", he loved planning family vacations, scavenger hunts, and was deeply involved in his children's lives. His guidance, laughter, and unwavering support created a home filled with warmth and love. Bob's family was the heart of his world, and his love for them knew no bounds.

Bob started his career as a mechanical draftsperson for Fluor Corporation in California, and he eventually settled in Fredericton, NB, working for many years at Neill & Gunter Limited. He then began a career with CGI in Fredericton, transferring to their Andover, MA office where he worked in project management.

The family would like to thank Dr. Cherif Abdelmalek and the care team at Foundation Hematology and Oncology at SNHMC, and the clinical trial team at Dana Farber.The family has entrusted Carrier Family Funeral Home in Windham, NH with final arrangements. As per Bob's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Family and friends will gather at a later date to honor his life. In the spirit of Bob's kindness and generosity, in lieu of flowers, the family would encourage you to reach out and support anyone you know going through hardship.
