Obituary

Robert "Bob" Doyle, 73, of Londonderry, NH passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday evening, September 6th, 2023.

Bob was born on March 13, 1950, to Pauline E. (Comeau) and George A. Doyle. He was raised in Malden, MA and attended local schools. A dedicated union man for 40-plus years, Bob spent his career working as a truck driver for Teamsters Local 25.

He married the love of his life, Lynn A. (Callahan) in 1976 and the couple brought up two children together in Wakefield, MA. His dedication to his family knew no bounds as he worked tirelessly to provide a life filled with love and memories for his wife, children and eventually his beloved grandchildren. In retirement, it was his job as "Papa" that truly defined the man, and he never missed an opportunity to support and love his grandchildren at every game, recital, or school event on the calendar. He was also an avid golfer, who would play weekly rounds with friends at Hidden Creek. He passed his love of golf onto his son and grandchildren and loved nothing more than trying (usually unsuccessfully) to beat the family on the course.  When he wasn't golfing, Bob could usually be found working on one of his countless "projects" for every family member, neighbor, friend, or friend of a friend that was in need of his expertise.  He was the Ultimate "Mr Fix It" and loved nothing more than solving a problem without using YouTube for assistance.  A true renaissance man, Bob also had a lifelong love of music, and was a proud and active member of the Crusaders Senior Drum and Bugle Corps of Boston, playing his bass baritone with his friends in the Corps at parades and events up and down the East Coast.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Lynn Doyle; their children, Matthew Doyle and his wife Emily (Pollock) Doyle of Bedford, NH and Jennifer (Doyle) Whitney and her husband David Whitney of Nashua; his grandchildren, Cameron Doyle, Margaret Doyle, and Sarah Whitney; his sister, Karen Cox of Saugus, MA; his brother, Kenneth Doyle of Malden, MA, in addition to many nieces, nephews, extended family members and cherished friends.
