Robert A. Demers

Robert A. (Bob) Demers, 89, of Salem, NH, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on June 13, 1937, to the late Alfred Demers and Rita (Brien), in Lawrence, MA.

Bob was known as a reliable, friend, volunteer, neighbor, father and best of all, Grandfather. He drove professionally as an owner operator of long haul eighteen wheelers, with well over 20 years of safe driving to his name. Recently taking his driving skills to bring countless hundreds of folks in need to doctors’ appointments with Salem’s Caregivers, for which he was awarded volunteer of the year in 2022.

Robert is survived by his Daughter Deborah Dustin and wife Melissa Fordham, son David Demers and son Daniel Demers and wife Tracy Demers. He is proud of his five grandchildren, Michelle Riedel, Haley, William, Zachary and James Demers and one great-granddaughter, Savannah Riedel. He is also survived by his sweetheart companion Helen Anderson.

In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his wife Evelyn Demers together for what would have been 68 years this August, as well as his siblings Lilian Seaborn, Simone Titone, Francios Demers, Madeline Desroche, Edmund Demers, Irene Demers, Theodore Demers and Annette Demers. The oldest child of a very large family, he also called many more family cousins, second cousins and beyond.

Friends and family are invited to Calling Hours on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 9-10:30 AM, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM, at St. Joseph Church, 49 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
