Robert John
Anjoorian
Dec 14, 1951 — Dec 7, 2024
Salem
Robert John Anjoorian, 72, of Salem, NH, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA.
Bob was born in Lawrence, MA, where he grew up and received his education. He was a longtime resident of Salem, NH, having lived there for the past 50 years.
As a young man, Bob worked at Morin's Bakery on Essex Street in Lawrence and at various restaurants, including the Ramada Inn in Salem, NH, Auburn, MA, and Lewiston, ME. His love for music led him to become a member of the band The Friends of Eros, where he played guitar at many functions and at the popular Kon Tiki in Salisbury Beach.
Bob had a strong social circle and formed lasting bonds with friends, many of whom gathered regularly at the corner near Economy Cleaners in Lawrence. This group, fondly known as the "Corner Group," continues to meet today for reunions at each other's homes.
In Salem, Bob established his own business, Robert Anjoorian Construction, where he became well-known for his expertise and craftsmanship in building. He was affectionately referred to as "Bob the Builder" by those who worked with him. Later in life, after retiring from construction, Bob founded an excavating company, which he continued to operate until his passing.
Outside of work, Bob had a wide range of hobbies. He loved boating, motorcycles, and was an avid car enthusiast. Each winter, Bob would drive his camper to Florida to visit friends he had made over the years, returning in the spring. He enjoyed attending concerts, trips to the casino, and visiting with his niece and nephew, Cale and Lainya, and their families.
Bob was the son of the late Edward and Mary Bogannum Anjoorian and was predeceased by his brother, Paul Anjoorian. He is survived by his close friends and caretakers, Doug and Michele Martino of Salem, NH, his brother Steven and his wife Linda Anjoorian of Haverhill, his nephew Cale Anjoorian of Lynnfield, MA, and his niece Lainya and her husband Mark Brown, Cales daughter Kayla and his son Zachary as well as many extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
