Richard S. Moore passed away in Nashua, New Hampshire on January 29, 2023 with his loving wife, Charlotte, son Todd and granddaughter Olivia by his side.

Richard was born in Illinois in 1927 to Charles A. Moore and Louise (Smith) Moore. He attended Alton High School and after graduation enlisted and honorably served as a Seaman First Class in the United States Navy in 1945-46 earning the World War Il Victory Medal for active service during the conflict. After his military discharge, Richard attended Shurtleff College, earning a bachelor's degree.

For over thirty years, Richard served in district executive roles for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Ohio. After his retirement from the BSA he relocated to Bradenton, Florida where he held multiple roles over eight years including account and loan officer at The County Bank which became part of SunTrust and ultimately acquired by Bank of America. He moved his primary residence to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee in 1994, working as a hiking equipment retail consultant and volunteer trail guide in the Smokey Mountains national park. After the death of his wife of 49 years Jacqueline Paige (Waggoner) Moore in 1998, Richard moved to southern New Hampshire where he resided until his death. He spent his retirement years there involved in various community and volunteer activities, pursuing a strong interest in Geocaching, and traveling, all with his partner and wife Charlotte (Gay Vautier) Moore.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Charlotte; his children, Cheryl, Michael, Jeffery, Marcia, Kimberly, and Todd; and 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three stepsons Reverend Grif Vautier, Victor Vautier and Val Vautier and three step grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Paige and sister Sally Ann (Moore) Guarino.

A memorial service will be held at Gibson Cemetery in Pelham, NH on Saturday, June 3rd at 1:00pm. All who wish to attend are welcome.
