Richard (Dick) Bishop, age 87, passed away peacefully at High Point Hospice in Haverhill on April 16, 2026.

Richard was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on May 11, 1938, to Fred and Marie Rose Bishop.

He was educated in Lawrence, Public schools and Haverhill and Lowell trade schools.

Richard leaves his wife of 67 years, Angela (Petralia) Bishop, Daughter, Deirdre Waterman/Manny, Sons, Mark Bishop/Sandra and Matthew Bishop; Grandson, James Waterman/Alicia, Grandaughter, Kaleigh DellaZoppa/Nikolaus, Granddaughter, Linda Deason; and five great grandchildren, Gregg, Gabriel, Samuel, Guinevere and Noah Joseph. He is also survived by a sister Patricia Manning and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is pre-deceased by sister, Joan Buchanan, brothers, Edward, Fred, and Roland Bishop.

Richard worked for S. H. Brennan Co. In Lawrence and Merrimack Valley Distributing Co. of Danvers Ma. He drove tractor trailer long haul and also had his own part-time window washing business.

Richard loved to spend summers in Ogunquit, Maine with his wife Angela, for many years along with their children and grandchildren along with many lifelong friends. He later retired with Angela in Wells, Maine.

Richard was an active leader in Boy Scouts at St. Augustine's School, Lawrence. He was also very proud of "Alice" his 1927 Pontiac Landau Sedan and was a member of the MOALS antique car club in Maine. Richard loved Frank Sinatra songs especially "My Way".

His wonderful sense of humor and commitment to his family will be missed terribly by all who knew him.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, April 23rd, at 1pm, at St. Mary's Cemetery, Barker Street, Lawrence, MA 01844. Family and Friends are invited to meet directly at the Mausoleum.
