Raymonde
Desjardins
Nov 28, 1942 — Mar 1, 2024
Raymonde "Ray" Desjardins died on Friday March 1st 2024 at Greystone Farm in Salem, NH. She was a longtime resident of Windham and briefly lived in Litchfield and The Villages, FL.
Influenced by her childhood in Matane Canada, she was a very hard worker who loved and was awed by nature throughout her life. Among many jobs Ray worked at Coca-Cola Bottling Co in Salem, NH, co-owned Carvel Ice Cream Bakery with her husband of 58 years Richard, and a popular aide with Salem Visiting Nurses Association while raising her family.
She loved New England's four seasons and enjoyed cycling, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and traveling. The Appalachian trail, mountains, and National Parks were her favorite. She completed approximately 1200 miles of the Camino de Santiago or Way of St. James pilgrimage trail from France to Spain with her husband shortly after retirement. Ray drew people in with her spunky personality and open nature and nothing would please her more than thinking she made a positive difference in other's lives.
She is predeceased by her husband Richard, daughter Sonya, and grandsons Joshua and David. She is survived by her daughters Renee and Audrey, grandchildren Jonathan, Kaleigh, Aaron and great grandson Logan.
As per Raymonde's wishes, no memorial services will be scheduled. In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations go to the hospice services that helped Ray, Richard and their family through the final journey. COMPASSUS Hospice 1 Bedford Farms Dr, Suite 2D Bedford, NH 03110 or Home Health & Hospice Care 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054, https://www.hhhc.org/how-to-help/ .
