Raymond Edward Cerri, 92, of Windham, NH, passed away on Friday, September 26th, at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Ray was born on March 8, 1933, to Rose (Morris) and Silvio Cerri. He was raised in Wallingford, Connecticut, attended local schools, and went on to pursue his passion for cooking at the Culinary Institute of America. Ray began his career at Dodson Brothers Restaurant, before working in various kitchens across New England and New York. He married the love of his life, Jacqueline (Daigle) and after a few years, the couple moved their growing family to make their home in Windham, NH. Professionally, Ray spent 30 years working up the ranks of the Lawrence General Hospital kitchen and later retired as the Chef/Food Production Manager.
Beyond his love of cooking, Ray enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his family. Throughout his life, he had an appreciation for sports, especially baseball and basketball. As a father of four boys, he loved being involved with their teams, whether he was coaching, umping, or just being there for support.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jacqueline Cerri; his sons, Mark and his wife Rosemary, Don and his wife Adel, and Paul; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by his son, Raymond E. Cerri, Jr; and his older brother, Ronald Cerri.
Services will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Parish, 501 St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN 38105.
