Pathmawathy "Bama" Vivekananthan, 69 years young, of North Andover, MA, loving mother of 3, and adoring wife of Nakeswaran Sanmuganathan, passed away in the early hours on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Lawrence General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 5, 1953 in Sri lanka to the late Vivekananthan Ambalavanar and Kamala Vivekananthan. Bama moved to the United States at the age of 31 and also lived in Montreal for 10 years before returning to the United States permanently. Bama was a loving, generous, and caring woman, always giving her time to others. She had countless joys in life. She was an active member in her Sri Lankan community in Boston, was often known as the local matchmaker, and sat on the board of directors for the Boston Thamil Association and the Montreal Tamil Sangaam for many years. She enjoyed playing the Veena and performed at many cultural concerts. She also frequently traveled around the world to different countries to visit family.

Her biggest joy in life was helping others and cooking, she was known as the best cook in town. All throughout her life, her motto was "where there's a will, there's a way" and she lived by those words. Bama was inspiring, tenacious, courageous, influencer of her time, and a leader above all. All who knew her could count on her for anything.

Bama will be greatly missed by her husband: Nakeswaran Sanmuganathan; her children: Tharshini "Suba" Nakeswaran (David), Gajeenthan Nakeswaran (Marlene-Love), and Myooran Nakeswaran; her doting grandchildren: Ephrahti, Amaya, Zenya, Wynton, and Jaycee; her great-granddaughter Adriemah; and her siblings: Nageswary Ariyakuddy, Vasanthanamalar Vivekananthan (Canada), and Shanthakumar Vivekananthan (Boston).

She is a loving sister-in-law of Rajeswary and Pushparanee (Sri Lanka), Rajeswaran (Saudi Arabia). Gnaneswaran (Belgium), Shanmugaranee and Ratha (Boston), Vigneswaran, Ratneswaran, and Vathanaranee (Canada). She was an aunt to Shamini, Neelaranjini, Shoban, Shayini, Suhana, Lenika, Jaseekaran, Mythily, Rekha, Rohith, Sivakowri, Gokulan, Lathika, Tharshika, Niroshan, Laxshika, Deepak, Abishak, Shagana, Sajitha, Thilak, Arun, Arrabe, Sayanikka, Sanuja, Vakshika, Hirthika, and Shajeeth.

Her legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service.
