Olaf Friedrich Braster, 81, of North Salem, NH passed away on Wednesday morning, March 1 ^st , 2023 at the Elliot Hospital, after a brief illness.

He was born on July 11, 1941 to Antonia (Klafack) and Friedrich Braster in Lüneburg in Germany. Olaf was raised there, attended local schools, and was educated in radio and television repair. Olaf began his work for a big department store before beginning his career with Endress & Hauser, which later became a part of General Electric. He married Julia (Bryant) in 1985 in Germany. The couple moved to the United States in 1986, where they resided in California for five years before moving to Indiana. They later made their home in Salem, NH where they have resided for the last 20 years.

Olaf is survived by his wife, Julia Braster; his children, Fenja Braster, Arne Braster, Gesa Braster, Sven Friedrich Braster, and Paul Herbert Braster, and his wife Alyssa; and his grandchildren, Rita Braster, Levi Gubitz, Skylar Rose Braster and Ryder Cruz Braster, and two more on the way.

In addition to his parents, Olaf was predeceased by his brother, Detlef Braster.

Olaf played both, guitar and piano; played tennis and golf, and he was an exceptional chef cook. He was a family man, a caring husband, father and grandfather.

Services will be private for the family.
