Norman E. Mills, Jr., 78, of Salem, New Hampshire, formerly of Waltham, Massachusetts and The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, after living with Parkinson's disease for many years.

Born in Malden, Massachusetts, to the late Norman and Ruth (Lear) Mills, Norman graduated from Burlington High School in 1965 and earned a degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts. He joined his family business and later retired as the third-generation owner of E. L. Mills Co.

Norman was married for 59 years to his beloved wife, Jane (Foley) Mills. Together they traveled widely, particularly enjoying years of cruising. Norman was always content to be just along for the ride, so long as they were together.

An avid golfer, Norman spent countless hours on the course, appreciating the game as much for the time outdoors and companionship as for the scorecard. He loved food and conversation and rarely passed up the chance to try a new restaurant—especially one offering bolognese sauce.

Some of Norman's most cherished time was spent at the cottage, home to "Camp Nana and Grandpa," where family and friends gathered year after year. He found happiness there—sharing meals, telling stories, and giving boat rides around the lake, never in a hurry and always glad for the company.

Norman is survived by his wife Jane; his children Jon Mills and his wife Mary of Waltham, MA; Julie Poirier and her husband Alan of Auburn, NH; Matthew Mills and his wife Lauretta of Titusville, FL; and Kathryn Ryder and her husband Robert of Exeter, NH; along with his grandchildren Sarah, Lauren, Christopher, Jennifer, Jordan, Jamie, Andrew, Abigail, Aaron, Alexander, Jackson, and Nora; great-granddaughter Lillian; and his siblings Richard Mills, Paul Mills, Brian Mills, and Patricia Semeter.

A Memorial Service will be held at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish, 920 Trapelo Road, Waltham, MA, on January 10, 2026, at 10:00 am. A luncheon will follow. Burial will be privately held.
