Neil William Schroeder, 73, of Salem, NH, passed away on Sunday, December 14th, 2025, surrounded by love following a courageous battle with Leukemia. He was born on May 27, 1952, to Rita (Blanchard) and Edward Schroeder.

Neil was born and raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts and attended local schools. Neil spent his entire career working for Pacific Packaging Products where he made many lifelong friends over his 50 years employed. After retirement, he also spent time working at Market Basket and Canobie Lake as a landscaper. Neil was an extremely hard worker and put 110% into everything he did. He was a lifelong member of the Elks Club.

Neil was known for his sarcastic humor and being incredibly stubborn in the best way. You could always find him in his beloved recliner every Sunday watching Football and every Saturday with his girls enjoying a Romanos Pizza. He shared a passion for guns and sharp shooting, loved watching Cops or LivePD and passed those traits to his son Dirk.

He enjoyed spending all his hard-earned money at Foxwoods and leaving with nothing. Neil also loved spending time vacationing in the White Mountains with his family, especially watching his grandchildren explore his all favorites; Santa's Village, Zeb's General Store and Story Land. His absolute favorite place to be was in Walt Disney World staying in a Safari View room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and enjoying the animals on the deck well into the evening. All he needed was a walk around World Showcase in Epcot during the Food & Wine Festival to bring joy to his soul.

Neil was always down for a Jack & coke, a beer or a banana ice cream but especially loved his Hot Damn 100 before bed every night.

To know Neil was a gift, simply put. He was a selfless man and an amazing friend to so many. He could lighten up a room by being in it and without needing to say much at all. He was very simple but loved extraordinarily. The world was a better place with him in it.

Neil is survived by his only son, Dirk Schroeder, his girls who were not his own by blood but by choice; Katie McCormick and her husband Alex, and Kayla McTiernan and her husband Dillon; his grandchildren who were the light of his life, Emily, Kassie, and another on the way; his brother, Edward Schroeder and his wife Barbara; his sister, Susan Wlodyka; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Neil was predeceased by his sister, Carol Raineri.

Calling hours and refreshments will be held on Thursday, December 18th, from 4 to 6pm, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 6pm, at the funeral home.
