Michael H.
Wells
Aug 29, 1955 — Feb 17, 2025
Michael Harry Wells, 69, of Chester, New Hampshire transitioned from this life into the arms of Jesus on Monday, February 17, 2025 with his wife and loving family by his side. Devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Born August 29, 1955 to the late Harry and Clara Wells of Abington Massachusetts. Michael married the love of his life, Claudia Wells (Balukonis) on September 11, 1977. Together they raised 4 sons, Aaron, Jonathan, Michael, and Peter. Michael was faithful and successful in what he would often state was his main goal for his family; to see his sons become men who know, love, and follow God.
Michael had an incredibly strong work ethic that started as a young man working as a meat cutter apprentice under the guidance of his father at Brant Rock Supermarket. He then managed the meat department for Winn Dixie and later Shaw's grocery stores where he then moved into store management. He finished his career with TryAngle Foods. He enjoyed the traveling aspect of this job driving through the mountains and valleys of Vermont and New Hampshire. He was known for and sought after for his expertise in bringing struggling stores through challenges and turning them into thriving environments for employees and customers alike through his wisdom, dedication, leadership, and care for people. He was a well respected leader and known for his calm demeanor.
Michael loved working on and enjoying his home and land, camping with family and friends, vacationing in Florida, and enjoying the company of his family and 10 grandchildren. He took great pride in showing that hard work paved the way to greater things and put great time and effort into leading by example.
Michael took pleasure in relaxing with his family by the campfire and on the golf course. He was an avid Boston sports fan and loved watching the Celtics, New England Patriots, and Red Sox on TV, as well as attending many games with his boys. He made time to ensure all his sons were self-reliant at a young age, teaching them how to change a car tire, change the oil, and brainstorm together to fix other motorized vehicles such as tractors and dirt bikes.
Michael had a profound love for his Lord Jesus Christ. He cared deeply to share this love with his children. For years he taught his sons Bible stories in the living room, guiding them to understand God's grace, righteousness, forgiveness and love. He prayed that God's roots would take hold with his sons, which manifested abundantly.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Claudia (Balukonis) Wells; his children, Aaron and his wife Bonnie of Putnam County, FL, Jonathan and his wife Arley of Portsmouth, NH, Michael and his wife Rabecah of Pembroke Pines, FL, Peter and his wife Rebecca of Collegeville, PA; his grandchildren, Vincent, Veronica, Serinity, Royce, Raina, Ilsa, Elynnah, Tyler, Jesse and Elijah; his sister, Cindy Mullen and her husband, Michael; brothers-in-law, Vincent Balukonis and his wife Diane and David Balford and his wife Bethany; his sister-in-law, Laurie Patrick and her husband Bruce; as well as many nieces and nephews.
