Mercedes Castillo de Carrero, 86, of Windham, NH passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Southern NH Medical Center. She was born on September 24, 1937, to Rufino and Teofila (Solano) Castillo in Hatomayor del Rey, Dominican Republic.

After leaving the Dominic Republic in her early twenties, Mercedes immigrated to the United States and raised her family in Lawrence, MA. She began working as a seamstress for Polo in Lawrence prior to beginning her career as an assembler for General Electric/ AT&T. In her free time, Mercedes enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was "Nana" to everyone.

Mercedes leaves her loving husband, Rafael Esteban Carrero, as well as their children, Ralph Carrero and wife Ana of Windham, NH, Evelyn Ruiz and husband Jesus of Windham, NH, Lincoln Carrero and wife Delia of Puerto Rico; siblings, Adriana, Juan, Ursulina, Blasina, Ramona, and Ylsa; Grandchildren, Marcus, Michael, Jennifer, Stephanie, Laura, Christina, Jesenia, Joshua, and Jonathan; as well as eleven Great-Grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mercedes was predeceased by her brother, Evangelista.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 27, from 12:00 – 2:00pm at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087.
