Lawrence
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Melanie Ann Schindler, 42, of Lawrence, MA. Melanie passed away July 9, 2024.
She was born in Lawrence, MA on August 5, 1981, to Sandra (Milone) and Bernard Schindler Jr. and raised in Methuen, MA. Melanie was the second born of her four siblings, she became her older sister's best friend instantly and later became an amazing older sister to her younger sister and brothers who have always looked up to her.
Melanie graduated from Methuen High School and worked for The Eagle Tribune for 26 years. Her coworkers became her second family and she cared deeply for them all.
Melanie lived with her fiancé David, their beautiful daughter Kayla and her Granddog Millie.
Melanie enjoyed shopping, puzzles, and collecting plants, willow trees, and Hummels. Most of all, her family was always her number one priority.
She loved her daughter with all her heart and was extremely proud of the woman she became. Melanie loved spending time with her entire family. Her siblings were her best friends and she loved them more than anything and making memories with them was her favorite thing to do. She shared a lifetime of memories with her fiancé David who she was with for 27 years. Melanie loved going to family parties, and although she was always late she made up for it by being the last to leave and making everyone laugh. There isn't a person that met Melanie that didn't feel loved and welcomed by her. She was kind to everyone she met and made lasting impressions on all those who crossed her path. Melanie was also an amazing Aunt and loved all of her nieces and nephews fiercely. Her smile and laughter will always remain in our hearts and she will be missed every single day.
She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her fiancé, David Kerrins; her daughter, Kayla Schindler and her significant other Jordan Gunter; her Granddog Millie; her mother Sandra "Sandy" Schindler and her longtime partner Michael Rubera Jr; her father Bernard "Bernie" Schindler Jr and his wife Lisa Schindler and family; her siblings, Sarah Schindler and her partner Matthew Lewin; Megan Colón and her husband Carlos Colón; Bernie Schindler; her stepbrother Michael Sachs and his wife Ashley, her stepsister Monica Sachs; Mother in law Cecelia Fialho; Father in law David Kerrins and partner Cathy Kerrins, along with Derek, Jeremey, Dana, Jacklyn, and Stephanie Kerrins, and Johnathan Consoli; her nieces and nephews Chris and Leah Lewin, Eli and Olivia Colón, Ariana, Joey and Alayna Schindler, Aubree and Jacoby Schindler, Isabella Kerrins, and Lucyana Kerrins.
