Maryellen Castles, 59, of Derry, NH, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 23, 2025. She was born on January 18, 1966, in Methuen, MA, to the late James and Marilyn (Ross) Castles. Maryellen grew up in Methuen, where she attended local schools. Following her graduation from high school, she began her career as a bookkeeper, spending the majority of her career working with the Carpenter's Union.

Maryellen's nurturing spirit was evident in her deep passion for caring for others. She cherished family traditions and holiday gatherings, always ensuring that everyone's birthday was celebrated. Her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and sense of humor lit up every room she entered. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking for her loved ones, spending time with friends and family, and enjoying boat outings on Big Island Pond in the summer. Above all, she had a deep love for her daughters.

Maryellen is survived by her daughters, Natalie Giordano and Nichole (Giordano) Quintin and her husband Joseph;

her significant other, Joseph Kalil;

her siblings, James F. Castles Jr. and his immediate family Joshua, Jennica, and Allyah; Maureen Hovnanian and her husband Mike, Cathyann Castles and her significant other Kevin Lanouette;

her niece and nephew, Sierra Castles and Michael Hovnanian; and the father of her daughters, Frank Giordano.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, David Castles.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 3-6 pm, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A funeral service will follow immediately at 6 pm at the funeral home.
