Maria K. Sinclair, 78, of Atkinson, NH passed away on Tuesday morning, September 20, 2022, at her home, after her brief battle with cancer.
She was born in Katerini, Greece on January 8, 1944, to Anna (Karamanli) and Nicholas Kriton. Maria graduated from Central High School in Manchester, NH. She continued her education at UNH where she earned her bachelors in Elementary Education and multiple masters degrees in education. Teaching was Maria's passion. She devoted herself to her students and faculty at Matthew Thornton Elementary School in Londonderry, NH from 1965 to 2014, an impressive 49 years of service. Maria made an impact on countless students' lives and made many lifelong friends over the years teaching grades two through six.
Maria was devoted to her church, St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Manchester. Sunday services and Wednesday bible study brought a lot of joy to her life. Maria lived by the word of God. In all her words and actions, she emitted love and positivity.
Maria loved spending time with family. She enjoyed the beach, trips with friends, and going out for coffee. At home, she relaxed by taking walks with her chickens, gardening, and hosting backyard barbeques.
She adored all four of her grandchildren and loved to spend time with each of them helping with homework, watching soccer and football games, or simply playing together at home.
She is survived by her children, Peter Sinclair of Atkinson, NH, Mark Sinclair and his wife Nancy of Hudson, NH, and Jennie Sinclair of CO; her grandchildren, Mason, Anna, Sara, and Keanu; her sister, Dr. Jennie DiBartolomeo and her husband Michael; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Maria was predeceased by her loving husband, John Sinclair and her brother, George Kriton.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 25 from 2 to 5pm at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday morning at 10am at the St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 650 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH 03104. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
