Margaret B. (McLaughlin) Dooley, 97, of Derry, NH, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Parkland Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 13, 1926, to the late John and Rose Marie (Doherty) McLaughlin, in Cambridge, MA.
Margaret grew up and was educated in Cambridge, MA. She was a resident of Derry for the past 25 years, formerly of Arlington, MA. On June 24, 1950, Margaret married the love of her life, Bill Dooley, whom she spent 70 wonderful years with.
Margaret was a communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. Matthews. Margaret had many joys in life. She was an avid bingo player and always tried her luck at the slot machines at the casino. She often traveled both domestically and internationally with her friends. Margaret was also an avid listener of Irish music. Above all, family meant everything to Margaret. She was often heard bragging about her two granddaughters.
Margaret is survived by her son: Stephen Dooley, and his wife Maryellen, of Derry, NH; her sisters: Antonia Therrien, and Rita Lewis, and her husband Bob; her granddaughters: Meghan Micale, and her husband Brandon, and Colleen Dooley, and her husband Tyler Gauch; and her daughter-in-law: Mary Harding as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Margaret is predeceased by her husband: Bill Dooley; their son: Larry Dooley; her brothers James, William, John, Francis, Robert and her sisters Catherine Campobasso and Patricia Haggis.
Friends and family are invited to Calling Hours on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 9-10:30 AM, at Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Mass will be held following Calling Hours, at 11 AM, at St. Matthew's Parish, 2 Searles Road, Windham, NH 03087. Interment will be private for the family at the New Hampshire State Veteran's Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shepherd's Pantry, 1 Church Road, Windham, NH 03087.
