Lucille S. Grégoire-Koba, 71, of Salem, NH, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at her home with her husband at her side. She was born on July 20, 1951, to the late Ernest Sr. and Alma (Petrin) Grégoire in Binghamton, NY. Lucille received her Master's in Education from State University of New York College at Buffalo after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology from Nazareth College in Rochester, New York.   She had every right to feel proud of these milestones since she had to deal with dyslexia while pursuing these goals.  Lucille truly found her calling in early childhood education and speech pathology. She found great reward in helping non-verbal children find their voice through early forms of electronic communication devices and other non-verbal techniques.

Lucille loved to do jig-saw puzzles, learned the science of machine embroidery, and scrapbooked every single branch of the family tree.  She was truly passionate about remembering her heritage, ancestors, and growing family.  She loved being in the kitchen and spent hours baking colorful Wilton cakes for family affairs, especially everybody's birthday. Lucille was passionate about these skills and very detail-oriented. Her love of music was an integral part of her life. She was a member of college choir, loved to sing in church, and sang to her children & therapy students. Additionally, she was a loving supporter of Ted's ethnic band 'The Perceptions" of Binghamton, NY.

Lucille was extremely family oriented. Not only did she raise two children, but she took care of her parents and visited daily with other family members when they were still in the Binghamton, NY area. Saying Lucille was a faithful wife was an understatement. She was always one to take care of her family and friends. She was a devout Mother and Mémère.

The Catholic faith and God were especially important to Lucille. Mother Mary and St. Thérèse held a special place in her heart.  She was a devout Catholic and served as both a CCD teacher and first communion and first penance coordinator at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Johnson City, NY. When traveling, Lucille was sure to find the nearest chapel or church to visit, including on her honeymoon, which was partly spent at the Sisters of Charity motherhouse in Halifax, Nova Scotia!

Lucille is survived by her loving husband of 43 years: Theodore "Ted" Koba; their children: Amanda Victoria Lenze, and her husband Jon, of White Lake, Michigan, and Alexina Lucille O'Brien, and her husband Dan O'Brien, of Salem, NH; her siblings Ernest Gregoire Jr. and his wife Ruth, Ronald Gregoire, and his wife Melissa Pollack, Ann Marie DeGroat, and her husband Michael, Patricia Stefanski, and her husband Tom, Harold Gregoire, and his wife Sheila, and Richard Gregoire, and his wife Julie; her grandchildren Aria O'Brien, Felicity Lenze, Katrina O'Brien and Emmett Lenze; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lucille was predeceased by her sister: Marguerite Svoboda and her husband James and their son, James Jr.

Calling hours will be held Monday, January 16th, 2023, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023, at 10 AM, at St. Matthew's Parish, 2 Searles Road, Windham, NH 03087.
