Obituary

Lorraine N. Thibault, 86, of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Mary Immaculate Nursing & Rehab Center, with her family by her side. She was born on July 2, 1938, to the late George and Noela (Pepin) Garant, in West Warwick, RI.

Lorraine met her soulmate Raymond Thibault, while they were both working at Speidel Watch Company. They fell in love and were married for 56 years, until Raymond passed away in 2014.

Lorraine had many joys in life, but none were greater than spending time with her family and, especially her grandchildren. Not only did she raise her own, but she was also a nanny to two children while they were young, Gabriella and Carmela Hilner, whom she loved as if they were her own.

In her free time Lorraine enjoyed crocheting and a passion for solving crossword puzzles. She was a devout Catholic and put her love for singing into practice as a choir member of Mary Queen of Peace Parish, in Salem, NH. She also served on the board for the New Hampshire Housing Authority.

Lorraine is survived by her children: Michelle Playdon, and her husband Gary, of Parrish, FL, Linda Luccisano, and her husband Peter, of Methuen, MA, Paul Thibault, and his wife Kimberly, of Danville, NH, and Christine Ansin; her siblings: Roger Garand, Beatrice Brayton, Theresa Parenteau, and Donald Garant; her grandchildren: Jennifer, Matthew, Justin, Tiffany, Stephanie, Joseph, Nina, and Jared, along with their spouses; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine is predeceased by her brother: Robert Garant.
