Obituary

Lois Wendell, 86, of Atkinson, NH, passed away on Monday morning, September 8, 2025, at her home surrounded by her children.

She was born on September 27, 1938, to Mary (Vadaikes) and St. Claire Lawyer. Lois was raised in Salem and attended local schools. Her career was spent at various law offices, and she retired from Soule, Leslie, Kidder, Sayward and Loughman Law Firm after 36 years.

Lois was heavily involved with the North Salem United Methodist Church, where she helped with whatever she could, whether she was landscaping, cooking, working at the food pantry, setting up poinsettias at Christmas, or serving on the trustee committee. She was a member of the North Salem Methodist Women's Group. She loved working with the youth at church, visiting and sharing her talents with them, the children loved her very much.

Throughout her life, spending time with family was her greatest joy. Lois always made a point to be present at her family's activities. She loved being there to support Mitch, Dean, and Chad at their car races and Kelsey at her horse shows and sporting events. Christmas morning with her family was one of her favorite traditions and was her tradition since her children were born.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Melissa Tremblay and her husband Robert of Atkinson; her son, Mitch Wendell of Derry; her grandchildren, Kelsey Tremblay, Chad Wendell, Dean Wendell and wife Jessie; her great-granddaughter, Artemis "Ari"; as well as several nieces, including Karen McFadden, with whom she was especially close to.

In addition to her parents, Lois was predeceased by her son Mark M. Wendell, her sisters, Claire Brandy and Joan Rapisarda.

Services will be private for her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund, c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168. Arrangements are in the care of the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087.
