Leslie Ann Maguire- Shortt, 89, of Watertown, MA, passed away on Monday morning, July 28th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 22, 1936, to Marjorie Rose (Gedney) and Joseph A. Maguire. Leslie was raised in New Rochelle, New York, attended local schools, and went on to earn her degree in Nursing from the Grasslands Nursing School. She proudly spent her career in the Medical Surgical Specialty, working for Framingham Union Hospital and later, Waltham VNA.
Leslie adored her family and loved any time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, and trips to the beach. Leslie loved the 20 years she spent living in Cape Cod.
She is survived by her children, Kevin Shortt, MD and his wife Stephanie of Colorado Springs, CO, Dori Gallagher and her husband Joe of Franklin, MA, Jean Fabrizio of Quincy, MA, Tom Shortt and his wife Kimberly of Watertown, MA, and Mary Kennedy and her husband Jake of Plaistow, NH; her beloved grandchildren, Michael Gallagher, Christina Scanlon, Kevin Gallagher, Christopher Gallager, Deanna Blake, Thomas Shortt, Ryan Kennedy, Kayla Costa, Nicole Tate, Alex Kennedy, Maddy Higgins, Amanda Shortt, Jennifer Maiden, Carolynn Kennedy, Anthony Shortt, Brian Andrew Shortt, Brian Patrick Shortt, Preston Shortt, William Shortt; her eleven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Patricia Rooney of Poughguag, NY.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, from 9am to 10:30am, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH. A Funeral Mass will immediately follow, beginning at 11am, at St. Anne's Parish, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
