Lawrence Joseph Casey

Lawrence J. Casey, 85, of Windham, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026.

Born in Lenox, Massachusetts, on May 9, 1941, Larry attended Cranwell Preparatory School in Lenox before graduating cum laude from Boston College with a degree in Economics and earning a master’s degree from Syracuse University. Upon graduating from BC, he entered the US Air Force, beginning a distinguished 20 year military career.

Larry was immensely proud of his military service. His career took him far beyond his hometown of Lenox, to Korat, Thailand, during the Vietnam era, as well as Michigan, Nebraska, Canada, Missouri, New York and Greece. He loved his country deeply and was grateful for the opportunity to serve it. His patriotism remained an important part of who he was throughout his life.

Larry’s Catholic faith was at the heart of who he was. St. Mark the Evangelist Church was not simply his parish; it was his spiritual home and his parish family. Before Parkinson’s, he was an active member of St. Mark’s, serving as a Eucharistic minister, lector, altar server and in virtually any other capacity where he could lend a hand.

The Men of St. Joseph held a particularly special place in Larry’s heart. He treasured the monthly gatherings and the opportunity to be surrounded by faithful men with whom he could share his faith, friendship, and life.

Larry also had a lifelong love of sports. He played baseball, racketball, basketball, tennis, skied, golfed, he was athletic. He was an avid baseball fan and a loyal Kansas City Royals fan. His love of baseball took them on an extraordinary journey to every Major League Baseball ballpark.

Travel was another passion. Larry and Pam enjoyed traveling the beautiful USA National Parks as well as Europe, Ireland, South Africa, and his beloved Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Those Irish eyes were smiling when in Cabo.

Those who knew him will miss the way he could make you laugh. His Irish eyes were always smiling, and simply being around him could lift your spirits. He had a wonderful ability to make people feel comfortable, welcome, and valued. A friend once described Larry as “interesting and interested.” It was an especially fitting description.

Larry’s greatest love was his wife, Pam with whom he shared 40 years of faith, love and laughter; his daughter, Linda and her husband, Barry Clairmont; his son, Sean, and his wife, Christie; and his granddaughters, Caroline and Anna Grace, who lovingly called him Papa.

He will be deeply missed by his family, his parish family, his many friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His Irish eyes may no longer be here to greet us, but the warmth behind them will remain in the hearts of everyone who loved him.

A wake will be held at Carrier Family Funeral Home in Windham, New Hampshire, on Sunday, September 27, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, Londonderry, NH on Monday, September 28, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a celebration in the parish hall. Burial will be private in Lenox, Massachusetts, at St Anne’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the New Hampshire Food Bank.
