Kevin McCarthy, 69, of Methuen, MA, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, December 14, 2024, with his loving family at his side. He was born on November 25, 1955, to the late Frederick A. and Patricia (McGravey) McCarthy, in Methuen, MA.

Kevin was a family man. His true joy in life was watching his children, and eventually grandchildren grow. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at the kids' sporting events. He also enjoyed his time on Cobbett's Pond and Big Island Pond with his wife and children. In later years, he enjoyed summers spent on Lake Winnisquam.

Kevin will always be known as a personable and kind man, who could chat and make friends with anyone he met. A hard worker, Kevin worked at Lucent Technologies early in his career, until he joined the real estate business with his father. Eventually Kevin went into business himself, creating McCarthy Distributing.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 45 years: Kimberly (Rogers) McCarthy, of Methuen, MA; their children: Kelley McCarthy, and her partner Greg McEvoy, of Dover, NH, Christopher McCarthy, of Derry, NH, Katelyn McCarthy, and her fiancé Courtney Jennings, of Andover, MA, and Kevin McCarthy Jr., of Salem, NH; his siblings: Maureen Doherty, and her husband Steve, Frederick McCarthy, Christine Robichaud, Kathleen Borden, and William McCarthy, and his wife Hyunjung; his cousins who are like siblings: Marylou McCarthy, Brian McCarthy, and his wife Barbara, and Joan MacLachlan, and her husband Glenn; and his grandchildren: Sienna, Matthew, Breanne, Teagan, Cooper, and Grace.

In addition to his parents, Kevin was predeceased by his cousin, Jacqueline McCarthy; his niece, Brianna McCarthy; and his nephew, David Doherty.

Friends and family are invited to Calling Hours on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 4-7 PM, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 11 AM, at St. Monica's Parish, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA 01844. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, N. Lowell Street, Methuen, MA 01844.
