Kenneth
Rapson
May 24, 1949 — Jan 7, 2026
Derry
Kenneth Rapson, 76, of Derry, NH, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, while surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on May 24, 1949, in Concord, MA, to the late Chester and Jean (Barry) Rapson.
Following his graduation from high school, Ken proudly served his country with the United States Navy. His years in the Navy were some of his happiest, and his deep love for his country remained steadfast, even beyond his time in the service.
Ken met the love of his life, Barbara, through his sister, and the rest was history. The two were married in 1975 and spent a tremendous 50 years together as husband and wife. Ken was a devoted family-man, father, and Papa to his family, and was always sure to show up for his loved ones. Together, Ken and his family enjoyed trips in their motorhome, participating in the special Olympics, and swimming in the pool. He loved his pets dearly, especially his cats Kringle, Opal and grand cats Brownie and Licorice.
A NASCAR fan majority of his life, cars and racing were one of Ken's greatest passions in life. He along with his son Adam, was sure to attend every yearly NASCAR race over the last 25 years and recently expanded this hobby to include Star Speedway's "Halloween Howler" event. Together along with family and friends, Ken and Adam would buy, fix up, and decorate vehicles to compete in the Howler over the last six years, even having taken home the second-place award for appearance.
In addition to his adoring wife, Barbara Rapson, Ken is survived by his children, Heidi and her husband Jim Baker, and Adam Rapson; his grandson, Xander Baker; as well as many friends and members of his extended family.
