June Carroll
Shattuck
Jun 23, 1922 — Aug 27, 2024
Derry
June Carroll Shattuck lived the last 7 of her 102 years with family in Derry, NH. She passed into eternity with the Lord Jesus on Tuesday evening August 27, 2024, at home surrounded by family. June was born on June 23, 1922, to Mildred (Mueller) and Edwin Krause. She was raised in Sheboygan Wisconsin, the "Bratwurst Capitol of the World," and attended local schools. She went on to earn her Bachelors Degree in Accounting at the University of Wisconsin Class of 1944 where she was known as an "ardent commerce enthusiast," Treasurer of the Women's Commerce Club, Sigma Epsilon Sigma, and had "captured the position of VP of Phi Chi Theta."
With a desire to experience New England June accepted a position with General Electric Corp. in Bridgeport Conn. There, participating in a church group for young adults, she met, and in 1946 married Charles A. Shattuck. With Charlie out of the US Navy and WWII behind them they raised their family in Andover, Massachusetts. She was a full-time mom and also kept a hand in bookkeeping for the family business and at different times for various companies throughout the years.
Faith in God and active participation in church community life was consistent throughout her lifetime. Her own family, friends of the family, people at church, and especially friends of her children all knew well and loved her God given gifts of hospitality, patience and kindness. Whether by way of a wink of an eye, blowing a kiss or an accepting encouraging smile she endeared herself to the people in her life.
June loved the adventure of travel, was always ready for a "Road Trip," and saw many parts of the U.S including Hawaii and Alaska. She also loved time they had living in their home on Ossipee Lake. June was always known as a "Good Sport" because of her willingness to try something new. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving, and she loved to swim, write poetry and do ceramics.
June is survived by her children, Beverly Shattuck Stran and husband Paul of Virginia, Wesley Shattuck and his wife Cheryl of Derry N.H., and Lynne Williams of Anchor Point Alaska; her grandchildren, Emily Shattuck, Kassandra Moran and her husband Mark, and Kristina Gray and her husband Grant; as well as her great-grandchildren Nicole, Kayla, Elijah, James, Grace, and the newest arrival Chloe June!
In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Charles and her son-in-law, Kenneth Williams.
Visitation will be held on Saturday September 14th from 4 to 5pm. A Celebration of Life service will start at 5pm. It will be followed by fellowship and dinner for everyone to honor June's gift of hospitality (and will include Bratwurst!), all on location at Carrier Family Funeral Home in Windham, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to "Dreamers Ranch," a "...working ranch based in Windham, NH that creates conditions for youth to step into their potential through mentorship and faith-informed programs on agriculture and entrepreneurship." (www.dreamersranch.org), or to the "Friendly Circle" women's group at Andover Baptist Church, 7 Central St., Andover, MA 01810.
