Judith A. (Ahern) Sousa, 81, of Salem, NH, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022, in Albany, NY. She was born on September 5, 1941, to the late John H. and Eleanor G. (Bennett) Ahern, in Melrose, MA.

Judith had many joys in life. She had an unfailing faith in God. She loved dancing, shopping, reading, travelling and spending time in Maine. Above all, she enjoyed the simple pleasure of spending time with her loving family and friends. Judith will be remembered for her compassion for others, humor, quick wit and kindness. She made an impression on all those who were blessed to have known her.

Judith is survived by her two children: John Sousa, and his significant other, Helen Longuemare, of Derry, NH, and Lisa Pearson and her husband Wayne, of Derry, NH; her longtime companion: Jack Pivovar, of Salem, NH; her grandchildren: Tim and Maddie Sousa along with their mother Lauri Sousa; her siblings: Fran Demenkow, and her husband Paul, of North Reading, MA, Jack Ahern and his wife Evelyn, of Byfield, MA, Joan Goodwin, and her husband Rich, of Wakefield, MA, and  Tom Ahern, and his wife Anne, of Melrose, MA; her sister-in-law, and best friend Paula Ahern, of Billerica, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Don Ahern.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 11 AM, at St. Matthew's Parish, 2 Searles Road, Windham, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
