Jose "Joseph" E. Melo, 64, of Salem, NH, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.

He was born on February 27, 1961, in the Azores, Portugal, to Edward and Concasano (Andrado) Melo.

Joe proudly served in the Army of Portugal before later moving to the United States in 1986. During his time living in Portugal he enjoyed very much playing soccer and making wine for the locals. It was on May 3rd of this year that he married the love of his life, Ana Melo. The young couple made their home in Salem, NH, where they raised their family. Joe worked at a local Dunkin Donuts for many years, where he was known for his friendly and outgoing demeanor. Most recently, Joe had worked as a delivery driver for NAPA Auto Parts. He also enjoyed doing various landscaping jobs.
Joe was extremely hardworking, generous, and kind. He was a social butterfly and always seemed to know everyone he encountered. Above everything, he was a family man to his core, and cherished every second spent with his children and granddaughter. His laughter and sense of humor will be missed by many. Joe was the kind of man to put everybody first, he would do anything to help anyone no matter what it entailed.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Ana, Joe leaves behind his son, David and his wife Linda Melo and their son Devin; his daughter, Sarah Melo, and her partner Daniel Jeffrey; granddaughter, Mia Giardina; his 11 brothers and sisters; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 4-6pm, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A funeral service will follow at 6pm at the funeral home.
