He was born on May 30, 1942, to the late Alfred Terreault and Emiline (Elias) Provost, in Lawrence, MA. John attended Lawrence schools and later graduated from Northern Essex Community College. He proudly served in the United States Navy as a Signalman and aided in Deep Sea Recovery during the Cuban Missile Blockade, in the 1960's. John worked in manufacturing and achieved VP of Operations at Muffin Town in Lawrence before his retirement.
In his leisure time, John enjoyed boxing, swimming and running, as he ran in the Boston Marathon twice in his early 50's. As staying active was very important to him, John also weightlifted from his mid-twenties onward. He enjoyed being a hypnotist, playing chess, writing poetry, attending his bible study groups, and his many trips to the casino. Above everything, John most coveted time spent with his family, and held a very special place in his heart for their yearly "LUVYAMAN" family camping trips and bocce tournaments.

In John 11:25-26, Jesus states: "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
