Obituary

Joanne I. Glorieux, 97, of Atkinson, NH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Lawrence General Hospital, with her family by her side. She was born on September 1, 1927, to the late Bernard and Mildred (Knudsen) White.

Joanne had many hobbies in life. She enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, listening to jazz, reading, and traveling around the world. She was an accomplished pianist and held recitals when she was younger. She was athletic and enthusiastic about ice skating, skating whenever she could, and teaching all her children how to skate in their flooded back yard.

Joanne cherished the time she spent with family, especially the times they shared at Blaisdell Lake in New Hampshire. She cherished her friendships too and remained involved in their lives even from a distance. Joanne's faith held a special place in her heart. She was a sacristan of St. Anne's Parish, in Hampstead, NH.

Joanne is survived by her children: Michelle Glorieux, and her wife Suzanne Matthews, of Limerick, Maine, Charlene Glorieux, of Atkinson, NH, Steven Glorieux, and his wife Angela, of Ruckersville, VA, and Leslie Ellen Miller, of Dedham, MA; her daughter-in-law: Eloise Thompson Glorieux of Savannah, GA; her brother: Bernard White; her grandchildren: Katie, Russell, Jon, Marie, Bruce Jr., and David; as well as her great-grandchildren: Laura, Lilly, Torin, and Claire.

In addition to her parents, Joanne is predeceased by her loving husband of over 50 years: Robert Glorieux; and their son: Robert "Bobby" Glorieux.

Friends and family are invited to Calling Hours on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 10-11:30 AM, at St. Anne's Parish, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH 03841. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated following calling hours at 11:30 AM (the mass will be livestreamed at www.saintannechurch.nh.org .Interment will take place on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 12 Noon, at Newton Cemetery and Arboretum, 791 Walnut Street, Newton Center, MA 02459.
