Obituary

Joan Carol Griffin, 88, of Windham, NH, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was born on October 25, 1937, in Boston, MA, to the late Fred Webb Morang and Hilda (Rollins) Jewer.

Joan grew up in Medway where she attended local schools. Following her graduation, she met and married the love of her life, Carlton, before moving to Windham and beginning their family together. It was also around this time that Joan pursued higher education, receiving her associate degree and beginning her career as a scheduler for the Elliot Hospital. She worked in various administrative positions, while devoting most of her time to raising her children.

Joan enjoyed her long and well-deserved retirement in Windham, where she resided for 62 years and truly considered home. She spent her time entertaining and gardening, forever cherishing time spent with her family, and of course loving on her many beloved dogs over the years.

Joan is survived by her beloved husband, Carlton Griffin Jr; children, Kimberley Aubrey and her husband Randy, Jennifer Dalton and her husband Lee, Gregory Griffin and his wife Sasha; grandchildren, Leanne Greenling, Kayle Aubrey, Callen Aubrey, Allison VanNoord, Neal VanNoord, Ethan Griffin, and Brooke Griffin; great-grandchildren, Sutton Cox and Bentley Aubrey; in addition to many friends and members of her extended family.

In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her sisters, Beverly Watson, Hildegarde Flood, and Kathleen Jean.

There are no services to announce at this time. A private burial will be held at a later date at the Cemetery on the Plains in Windham, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA, to support Joan’s lifelong devotion to caring for animals.
