Jason Brian Baker (Jay) passed away on August 14, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was 36 and died due to complications from diabetes.

Jay was born to Brian Baker and Cynthia (Rheaume) Baker on May 16, 1986, into a large and close-knit family that brought him immense joy.

Jay was beloved for his creativity, distinctive humor, heart of gold and inexhaustible curiosity. His passion for music encompassed his entire being. From his booming singing voice at family gatherings, to playing the saxophone in the Dracut High School marching band, to lead roles in school musicals and becoming an accomplished bagpiper, Jay shared his diverse talents with all those around him. He would regularly wow the crowd with Johnny Cash covers on karaoke nights and wake up the neighborhood playing Scottish tunes on his bagpipes. Jay's antics were legendary. He would do just about anything for a laugh. His comedic objective was always to deliver side-splitting moments in whatever company he kept.

Over the years, Jay worked at a local animal hospital where he became known as the dog whisperer and was beloved by both animals and humans alike, and Witch's Woods where he created and played the role of Dr. Professor, and Command D comic book shop where he spent countless hours with friends since childhood and his favorite – North Shore Music Theatre with his sister Kelly, where he would have stayed building sets had his illness not progressed.

Jay had an unmatched talent for wrapping love and kindness with a hint of mischief around those who knew him a lifetime or a day. He was the strongest link on any trivia team, always up for spontaneous adventures and treasured each one of his fiercely loyal friends. He had a close relationship with his sisters Michelle and Kelly and a bond like no other with his cousin Eric, whose kidney donation extended and enhanced Jay's life.

The Baker family is grateful for the compassionate care he received at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington, MA, particularly the 7 East nursing team and Richard Ma, MD.

Jay leaves behind his parents Brian and Cynthia (Rheaume) Baker, sister Michelle Rheaume and her husband Samuel Epstein, sister Kelly Baker and her partner Mark Vagenas, grandparents Charles and Grace Baker, Annette Rheaume and predeceased Francis "Grumpy" Rheaume, many loving uncles, aunts, cousins and his beloved cat Pokitty.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 11th at 1:00pm at North Shore Music Theatre, 54 Dunham Road, Beverly, MA.
