Janice E. McDaniel

Janice E. McDaniel, 88, of Manchester, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with dementia.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on May 18, 1938, Janice was the beloved daughter of Evelyn (Collins) and William H. Currier. She was raised in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, where she attended local schools before beginning the role she cherished most - being a mother.

Janice married the first love of her life, Joel Arthur Trull, and devoted herself to raising their five children. She created a home filled with love, laughter, and the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals and freshly baked treats. A gifted seamstress, she lovingly made beautiful clothes for her children when they were young. She was also an accomplished knitter, sharing her talents by creating treasured Christmas ornaments and tiny hats for premature babies at her local hospital. One of the greatest blessings in her life was the love she shared with her first in-laws, Elsie and Arthur Trull. Though the years brought many changes, they remained family in every sense of the word and always held a special place in her heart.

Always eager to help others, Janice volunteered at Tewksbury Hospital and later worked as a school bus driver in Tewksbury and Lawrence, Massachusetts. At the age of 50, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by becoming a nurse. For the next 12 years, she compassionately cared for her patients, touching countless lives before retiring from the profession she loved.

Later in life, Janice married the love of her later years, Lyman “Mac” McDaniel. Together they enjoyed more than 20 wonderful years of adventure, traveling throughout the United States in their motorhome and serving as campground hosts at military campgrounds across the country. They made lifelong friendships everywhere they went.

Janice had a smile that could light up a room, a wonderful sense of humor, and an infectious laugh. She had an extraordinary gift for making everyone she met feel welcome, comfortable, and valued. To know Janice was to feel like an instant friend.

In retirement, Janice found joy in creating beautiful, beaded bracelets, sewing Christmas stockings for those she loved, and spending time with the many dear friends she made in Georgia. She also loved playing tennis and was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoying both watching the races and attending them whenever she had the chance. Whether she was cheering from the grandstands, visiting with friends, or creating something special with her hands, she embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. Above all else, her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by her family. She treasured every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life.

Janice is lovingly remembered by her children: Kimberly Trull; Lynne Trull and partner Paul Kelley; Joel A.H. Trull and his wife Roxanne; Kellie Demarkis, John Demarkis; and Shawn Trull and his wife Michelle.

Her 11 grandchildren: Adam, Kerri, Alex, Tiffany, Trevor, Tyler, Devin, George, Samantha, Jessica, and Emma.

Her 13 great-grandchildren: Mason, Parker, Chloe, Cianna, Adam Jr., Cali-Anne, Leah, Taylor, Mylah, Brooklyn, Lily, Charlotte, and Ireland.

Her brothers: Donald H. Currier (predeceased) and Roger A. Currier.

Many cherished friends, including Sharon and Charles Dickerson; Rick and Judy Carty (predeceased); Barbara Hague (predeceased); Joel and Joan Trull; Sue and Charles Cawthorn; Linda and George Thumm (predeceased); Sandra and Dave Jenkins; Rebecca Olofsson; Johnny King; and many others whose lives she touched.

She was predeceased by her parents, Evelyn and William Currier, and by her beloved husband, Lyman Lee “Mac” McDaniel.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, July 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087.

Janice’s legacy lives on in the kindness she showed, the laughter she shared, the lives she cared for, and the love she gave so freely. Her life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and caring for others, and those gifts will continue to live on in everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
