Janet (Donlan) Gallagher, 77 of Salem, NH, died Wednesday at South Shore Hospital, Weymouth, MA.

Janet was born in Boston, MA, grew up and was educated in South Boston, where she graduated from Cardinal Cushing High School. She was a resident of Salem, NH for the past 55 years.

Janet was a retired accountant for Undercover Wear in Wilmington, MA. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem and volunteered at bingo for the Salem Boys Club and the Knights of Columbus in Salem. She loved to travel, play bingo and was an avid knitter, knitting hats for nurseries at several hospitals. Most of all Janet was all about her family and her friends.

Janet was the daughter of the late Martin and Agnes (Whelton) Donlan. She was also predeceased by her beloved husband William Gallagher Jr.

She is survived by her sons: William III and his wife Karla Gallagher of Salem, NH, and Timothy and his wife Michelle Gallagher of Hanover, MA

Siblings: James Donlan of Quincy, MA, Pauline Anderson of Squantum, MA, Mary Donlan of Plymouth, MA, John Donlan of So. Boston, MA, and William Donlan of Boston, MA.

Grandchildren: Jacob Gallagher, Sarah and her husband Colin Plante, Aidan, and Arianna Gallagher

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, Aug.4 ^th from 4-7 PM at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Rd, Windham, NH. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 5 ^th at 10:15 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
