Obituary

Janet (Moore) Filip, 84, of Windham, NH and Clermont, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13th.  She was the devoted and supportive wife of 50 years of the late Walter Filip and proud loving mother of their three children; Christy, Matt and Jake.

Janet was born and raised in the St. Louis, MO area.  She graduated from Hazelwood High School in 1959 and Southwest Missouri State College (now Missouri State University) in 1963.  After a brief year of teaching she changed careers and became a flight attendant with TWA Airlines. Family life was her focus both in Hinsdale, IL and in a cross country move to Hampstead, NH.

Janet was active, athletic and competitive.  She was either participating in or watching sports her whole life.  She played it all; volleyball, tennis, family batting practice, golf, shuffleboard, pickleball, and has the trophies to prove it.  Attending baseball games with her family was a constant pleasure throughout her life. She also enjoyed playing cards, particularly bridge. She was an avid reader and jigsaw puzzler.  A weekly BINGO game was a highlight on her calendar.

She was a winter "snowbird" heading to her and Wally's second home in Florida for over 30 years.  Her friends there became her extended family.  Her smile, quick wit and genuineness made others want to be in her company. She was always upbeat, positive, warm and gracious, with a twinkle in her eyes.

She was a member of Island Pond Baptist Church of Hampstead, NH and First Baptist Clemont Church in Clermont, FL.  Janet's faith and devotion to her Lord and Savior guided her throughout her life and continues now as she finds peace with her beloved husband Wally.
Janet is survived by her three children; Christy (Filip) Nunes and her husband Stephen of Framingham, MA, Matt and his wife Elizabeth of Mount Laurel, NJ and Jake of Chester, NH.  She was proud of each of her six grandchildren: Katie, Nico, David, Jonathan, Luke and Margaret.  She is also survived by her brothers, David Moore of Ozark, MO and Terry Moore of Nixa, MO.
