Obituary

James "Jimmy" K. Joaquim, 61, of Windham, New Hampshire, passed away unexpectedly on November 19, 2023, at his home.

He was born to Joseph and Sandra (Dipasqua) Joaquim on December 23, 1961, in Methuen, MA. Jimmy was raised in Lawrence and spent summers at his family's home on Cobbetts Pond, where he resided to this day. He had a special place in his heart for Cobbetts Pond and shared that love with his daughter Emily while they enjoyed kayaking, camping, and spending time on the pond together. Jimmy's love for Cobbett's Pond started at an early age with swimming, boating and water skiing. He was part of the Cobbett's Pond Water Ski Club which taught 50+ kids each year how to water ski.  These kids have grown to become life-long friends.  In recent years, Jim has added to the Cobbett's Pond community by being a member of the CPIA (Cobbett's Pond Improvement Association), and the Community Beach Association where he loved to work on projects to keep the quality of the pond at its best.

Jimmy also enjoyed being involved with Emily's activities including his time as a Sunday School teacher. He also was involved with Emily's Robotics for over eight years. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing guitar and collecting World War II paraphernalia.

Jimmy was a graduate of the Greater Lawrence Vocational High School. He then became a Master Electrician, working over 40 years for the Local 103 Union before his retirement at the age of 59.

Jimmy leaves behind his beloved daughter, Emily Rose Si Joaquim; his ex-wife, Cheryl Joaquim; his grandson, Boston Louis Cavanaugh; his siblings, Joseph Joaquim, III and his wife Maryann of Lake Worth, FL, Jeffrey Joaquim and his wife Brenda of Windham, NH, Jerry Joaquim and his wife Cathy of Windham, NH, Angela Grondin and her partner, James Knapp of Bozrah, CT, Cheryl Rogers and her husband Jason of Windham, NH, Brenda Sullivan and her partner, James Lynch of The Villages, FL, and Darlene Baker and her husband Douglas of Methuen, MA; his aunt Eleanor DeNaro; his many nieces and nephews; and his lifelong friend, Ronnie Collins.
