Henry George Desroches, left us peacefully on March 6, 2025, surrounded by his family. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Henry will always be remembered for his generosity and willingness to help those in trouble, including friends, family, neighbors and even strangers.

Born on March 20, 1935, in Dracut, MA, Henry grew up the son of Philip and Lucille Desroches and was a brother to his sister Claire and to 4 brothers: Philip, Arthur, Robert and Richard.

On November 13, 1954, Henry married the love of his life, Rachel Desroches. The two shared a wonderful life which began in Lowell MA. They settled in Westford, MA where they raised their family. They later moved to Salem, NH and spent winters in New Port Richey, FL for 15 years. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past year.

Henry joined the Navy Reserves in 1954 where he served 8 years. Henry enjoyed a long career as a mechanical engineer followed by a long retirement which was began in 1998.

Henry is survived by his wife Rachel, daughter Doreen, son Ron and his wife Laurie, his grandchildren Jacob Talty and wife Andrea, Jesse Talty, Joshua Talty and wife DeDe, Ryan Desroches and wife Jennell, Nicole Peck and husband Jackson, as well as his 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Claire and his brother Robert. Henry is predeceased by his brothers Philip, Arthur and Richard, his son-in-law Mark Talty and grandson Jonathan Talty.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Amedisys Hospice Care who took such great care of Henry over the past several months.
