Andover, NJ & Salem, NH

Helen (Mastin) Savard, 88, of Salem, NH and Andover, NJ, passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, into the loving arms of Jesus on August 12th at Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey.

Born in Methuen, MA to the late Germain and Yvonne (Lacroix) Mastin, Helen grew up surrounded by faith, family, and the values that shaped her gentle spirit. Throughout her life, she carried a quiet grace — the kind that lifted others, offered comfort, and made every person feel seen and cared for.

Helen devoted more than 25 years to the Salem, NH School District as a secretary in the food service department, where her kindness touched countless students, families, and colleagues. Her work was never just a job; it was an extension of her belief in service, compassion, and helping others.

At the center of Helen’s life was her family, whom she cherished above all earthly things. Her love was steadfast, unconditional, and deeply rooted in her faith. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. She celebrated sixty-six (66) beautiful years of marriage this past June with her beloved husband, Albert Savard, a partnership filled with devotion, laughter, and shared purpose.

Helen is lovingly survived by her three children: Larry Savard; Luanne Savard and her life partner, Michael Macaione; Michele Savard and her life partner, Gary Schofield, She was a proud grandmother to three grandchildren: Stephen, Henry, and Krysten and a joyful great‑grandmother to three great‑grandchildren: Liam, Mila, and Henry (baby Hank). She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Helen’s life was a testament to faith, family, and the quiet beauty of a generous soul. Those who knew her will remember her warm smile, her gentle wisdom, and the way she made every gathering feel like home. Helen’s kindness, warmth, and her gentle smile will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She taught us the importance of family, the power of a caring heart, and the joy of finding beauty in everyday moments.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 19th from 4–7 PM at Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Rd, Windham, NH. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 20th at 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
