Gwendolynn LaSpina

Remembered with gratitude, missed with love.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gwendolynn (Takahashi) LaSpina

Family was the heart of Gwendolynn's life. Gwendolynn married Alfred J. LaSpina on October 19, 1958, and together they raised 3 daughters and welcomed 6 grandchildren. Gwen also welcomed 2 greatgrandchildren as well. Gwendolynn loved her Candlepin bowling and, along with her husband, made every gathering — Sunday dinners, holidays, birthdays — feel like home. Gwendolynn will be remembered for her proud Hawaiian heritage from dancing the hula to singing her favorite songs.

Preceded in death by spouse, Alfred LaSpina; parents, Richard Takahashi and Queenie Kamakele; and siblings, Sharon, Reggie, Richard (Sonny), Emma and Ronnie.

Survived by siblings & inlaws, Lance & Dorothy Takahashi, Gayle and Ken Racette, and Esther Cazimero. Daughters and their spouses, Sharon and Quinton (Skip) Schaffer, Susan and William (Bill) Krzesinski, and Cindy and Philip (Phil) Manning; 6 grandchildren; 2 greatgrandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be private. The family invites friends to honor Gwendolynn in their own way and keep the memories close.

In Gwendolynn's honor, the family encourages friends to spend time with loved ones, share a meal, or help someone in need.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Salemhaven and Harborside Hospice for their compassionate care. Arrangements entrusted to Carrier Family Funeral Home. Online condolences may be shared on this memorial page.
