In Loving Memory

Dr. Girish V. Menon, 38, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at home surrounded by his parents, sister and loved ones.

Girish was born on February 20, 1986, to Dr. Elamana Vijayakumar Menon and Dr. Radha Vijayakumar Menon in Edinburgh, Scotland. After earning his bachelor's degree from Boston College, he obtained a medical degree from St. George's University and worked as an anesthesiologist in Boston and South Shore, MA.

As a worldly man in every sense, Girish had a wide range of interests including anything from philosophy and debate, to weightlifting, playing video games, listening to musical soundtracks, or exploring anime and comics. A true foodie, he delighted in discovering and cooking new culinary dishes and fine dining experiences from around the world. During his many travels, he ensured that he familiarized himself with local customs and language. Enamoring those he met to the point where they often wanted to claim him as one of their own.

Among those closest to him, his sister, Gayatri, held a special place in his heart. Girish deeply loved her and often took on the role of a third parent in her life.

He was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend who brought joy to countless lives. Known for his kind and compassionate soul, he inspired, protected and uplifted others with his positivity, humor, strength, and resilience.

From the beginning of his cancer diagnosis to the end, he was surrounded by the unwavering support of friends and family who loved him deeply. Known for maximizing and taking advantage of any and all opportunities, his cancer diagnosis did not deter him, managing to travel to Turks & Caicos, Japan, as well as taking time to visit his many friends around the world. Throughout this journey, Girish's remarkable sense of humor remained steadfast.

Girish was predeceased by his grandparents (ED Menon, Thankom D Menon, KR Panicker and TK Sarala Devi) and his beloved dog, Kittu. He is survived by his loving mother, father, sister, extended family, and dear friends.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 15th, from 10am to 12pm, at Carrier Family Funeral Home & Crematory, Windham, NH.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute , MSPCA & World Wildlife Fund , organizations which he strongly supported.
